I am a lifelong furniture maker and artist. I have always worked with wood and created fine furniture, restored antiques and something different every now and then. I rescue and reclaim materials from a lot of sources and develop useful, beautiful and lower impact products, preventing more landfill volumn.

Jewelry Keepsake Box Maple Crotch and Bird's Eye Maple with Cherry Accents

Jewelry keepsake box maple crotch and birds's eye maple with cherry accents. The maple crotch on top is a book matched set of sequential slices from a solid crotch. Very dense wave and three dimensional appearance. Really knocks your eyes out! the bird's eye sides match the top very well and are interesting themselves. I put cherry accents on this box for some contrast with out being to stark. The overall size of this box is 10" x 6" x 5 1/2". Perfect for desk top, dresser top or book shelf. I make these boxes by hand and sand them by hand with 320 grit sandpaper and hand polish them with appropriate clear finish. I make these boxes entirely by hand in my shop in Chattanooga, TN near the foot of Lookout Mountain. A serene and peaceful place to create.
